Ulrike Groos
Ulrike Groos studied art history, musicology and ethnology in Wuerzburg, New York and Muenster. From 2002 until 2009 she managed the Kunsthalle Duesseldorf. During that time she organized exhibitions like Zurueck zum Beton. Die Anfaenge von Punk und New Wave in Deutschland 1977-82 (2002), Ready to Shoot – Fernsehgalerie Gerry Schum, videogalerie schum (2003), Daumenkino – The Flip Book Show (2005), Palermo (2007), Reiner Ruthenbeck (2008) and Sonic Youth etc.: Sensational Fix (2009). Ulrike Groos taught at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Zurich from 2001 until
2006. She acts as adviser on numerous boards: Since 2004 she has been a member of the advisory board for fine arts / exhibitions at the Goethe-Institut, she was juror at the Fachbeirat Allgemeine Projektfoerderung der Kulturstiftung des Bundes from 2005 until 2007, since 2008 Ulrike Groos has been jurywoman for fine arts at the Villa Massimo and since 2009 she has been a member of the purchasing commission of the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein in Vaduz. Since January 1st, 2010, Ulrike Groos has been director at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. This year, the 46-year-old art historian is also curator of the 11.
