Hou Hanru
Born in 1963, China. Currently based in San Francisco and Paris. Director of Exhibitions and Public Programs and Chair of Exhibition and Museum Studies, San Francisco Art Institute since 2006., He has curated numerous exhibitions across the world. His latest major curatorial projects include The Spectacle of the Everyday, the 10th Biennale de Lyon, Not Only Possible, But Also Necessary – Optimism in The Age of Global Wars, The 10th Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul, 2007. Hou has taught and lectured many international institutions and is advising major international institutions such as The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, Deutsche Bank Collection, etc. He has also frequently contributed to art publications and serving as a jury member for many international art awards and competitions. His book On the Mid-Ground was published by Timezone 8, Beijing-Hong Kong, 2002.
