Pablo Lafuente is an editor, writer and curator. He has been an editor for the publishing and research organisation Afterall since 2005, working on Afterall journal as well as the One Work and Exhibition Histories book series. He has also worked, since 2008, as Associate Curator for the Office for Contemporary Art Norway, for which he has developed a number of projects, such as the anthology Whatever Happened to Sex in Scandinavia? (2012, co-edited with Marta Kuzma), and Norway’s official representation for the 54th Venice Biennale (co-curator with Marta Kuzma and Peter Osborne). He is the Pathway Leader (with Lucy Steeds) for MRes Art: Exhibition Studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, a two-year postgraduate research course that studies the history of contemporary art through the prism of the moment when art comes into contact with its publics – the exhibition. His writing has been published in periodicals including Afterall, Parkett, The Wire, Radical Philosophy, frieze and Art Monthly, and he has contributed to various books and exhibition catalogues.
He is currently working on a book on Lygia Clark’s Bichos, which he is examining as tools for pedagogical mediation.
